James Gibbons, President of Warner Bros. Discovery in Asia-Pacific, disclosed last Friday, the 22nd, that the company’s anime studio will now strive to produce more than 10 titles annually, surpassing the previous target of between five to 10 titles in prior years (via Variety).

Gibbons underscored that “anime is one of the best ways to reach the 18 to 30-year-old audience” and highlighted the robust following for animations in the USA, parts of Europe, and Latin America.

Established in 2011, the studio has already delivered over 80 titles, including popular series such as JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Record of Ragnarok, and SPY x FAMILY.

Warner Bros. Japan is deeply engaged in various anime properties like Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? and Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma. Additionally, it possesses rights to renowned Japanese properties such as Godzilla, Rurouni Kenshin, Gintama, and Death Note.

The company recently unveiled a new anime adaptation of Tetsuo Hara’s manga, Fist of the North Star (Hokuto no Ken). It’s also presently in production for the original anime, Suicide Squad ISEKAI, in collaboration with Wit Studio, slated to premiere in July.
